WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court has requested the Biden administration to weigh in on a billion-dollar mental property case introduced by the California Institute of Technology towards Apple Inc.

In an order issued on Tuesday, the excessive courtroom requested the Office of the Solicitor General to submit a quick addressing whether or not the case is value reviewing.
The Solicitor General’s workplace represents the federal government earlier than the excessive courtroom. If the workplace encourages the Supreme Court to hear a case, the justices typically undertake that suggestion.
Representatives of Apple, Broadcom and Caltech didn’t instantly reply to requests for remark.
Apple and Broadcom need the Supreme Court to evaluate a February 2022 resolution by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, an intermediate appeals courtroom that hears patent appeals.
